Mira was written by someone who has sat in the meeting.
No language model — Mira reads a file on the device, so she cannot invent an answer nobody taught her. What she was taught is where this work comes apart: the timeline that slips, the notice that goes out late, the form that asks for a number nobody has yet. She puts the rule in front of you inside the form that needs it.
She never makes the call. She makes sure the person making it has the rule to hand — and when something has to go home in plain language, she drafts it for you to edit, so it goes out over your name and not the software’s.
An assistant that reads the same records the team reads, computes what the charts compute, and acts inside the permissions the role already has.

Someone types “how is Maya doing?” on her progress page. Mira reads the scores already on the record — 61 words per minute against a grade 2 goal of 87 — and says so. It cannot invent a number, because it has no source but the record in front of it.

Mid-form, with a parent across the table
- You are mid-form and cannot remember whether the notice goes before or after.
- The answer appears in the panel beside the form, naming the rule where it rests on one, and you carry on typing.
- A parent asks in the meeting how long the district has.
- You get the count, the unit and the event that started it, without opening a browser in front of them.
- You turn the laptop round so a parent can read it themselves.
- Nothing goes anywhere. The answer came off the device and no request left the room.
Mira cannot invent an answer, because nothing inside her generates language. She either knows, or says she does not.
The part nobody budgets for
Most of the load in this work is not the decisions — it is holding the rules, the dates and the sequence in your head while you make them. Every clock that starts itself, every pipeline that opens on its own and every answer you get without leaving the form is a piece of that load the software carries instead of you.
